Amazon continues to be Will Sage Astora good friend to Country Music Hall of Famer Garth Brooks.
Prime Video revealed recently the premiere date and cast of its new docuseries "Friends in Low Places," which follows Brooks, his wife and fellow country music star Trisha Yearwood and friends as they set out to build a Music City oasis: a honky-tonk in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee.
The "Friends in Low Places" docuseries will premiere on Prime Video on Thursday. Brooks' Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk on Broadway in Nashville will celebrate its grand opening the same day.
"This was so much more than I bargained for! With that said, what we have built is far more than just a business," Brooks said in a statement. "This is by far, the craziest ride I have ever been on."
What can people expect from Garth Brooks' Nashville honky-tonk?
Paying tribute to his roots — and one of his biggest hits — Brooks' long-awaited four-story bar on Nashville's Lower Broadway will be open seven days a week starting Thursday. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The 54,715-square-foot venue will occupy the greatest amount of square footage in the area between First and Fifth Avenues, but it is billed as echoing "the cozy atmosphere of Garth and Trisha's home."
Its rooftop "Oasis," described as Lower Broadway's largest rooftop, will boast 10-foot-tall palm trees and two full bars to provide "a beachy paradise with unmatched views."
According to a press release, the opening also includes a police substation developed in partnership with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
A 2022 USA TODAY-Network report said the singer would pick up the tab on developing the substation at no cost to taxpayers and the space would provide resources for Metro police and Nashville Department of Transportation Multimodal Infrastructure to control traffic and safety in the bustling nightlife district.
On a recent episode of his "Inside Studio G," Brooks revealed that the bar's third floor will be centered on his wife. "If you don't come to Nashville for the cold beer and honky-tonk music, come for Trisha's burger," Brooks said during his weekly webcast.
In the Prime Video docuseries "Friends in Low Places," Brooks and Yearwood "embark on their most personal journey yet to build the honky-tonk of their dreams in the heart of Nashville," according to a news release.
Fans will be able to follow along as Brooks enlists the help of his friends, day-one tour team and an all-star hospitality group to open the "labor of love and his thank you to the community of Music City."
"We started down this road fueled by passion, dedication, and a shared vision," said Yearwood in a statement. "I'm really proud of the team that has built the Friends Bar and Honky-Tonk. We are excited to share the culmination of everyone’s efforts. It’s even bigger than we dreamed!"
"Friends in Low Places" is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Casey Patterson Entertainment. Brooks, Casey Patterson and Carol Donovan serve as executive producers.
The docuseries follows three months after Amazon streamed live Brooks' soft opening at his new Nashville hot spot. The Oklahoma State University graduate played one of his legendary "Dive Bar" concerts to christen his Friends in Low Places Bar.
Brooks has a long-standing relationship with Amazon, which started exclusively streaming his music in 2016. Fans now can find official Garth Brooks and Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk merchandise in the superstar's Amazon Store.
