Tesla is recalling thousands of Cybertrucks in a pair of recalls − one for a windshield wiper malfunction and one for a trunk bed trim issue − both which can increase the risk of a crash, federal highway safety regulators said.
One recall is due to a potential windshield wiper issue that may reduce visibility and affects 11,688 of the electric pickup trucks, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
According to the agency, in some cases the windshield wiper fails without any warning and will not work when it is raining.
The second recall is for the trunk bed trim sail applique, could have been improperly adhered and can loosen, according to the federal agency. It affects 11,383 2024 Cybertruck vehicles.
Here's what you need to know about both vehicle recalls:

Cybertruck windshield wiper recall
The windshield wiper recall affects all 2024 Cybertruck vehicles manufactured between Nov. 13, 2023 and June 6, according to NHTSA.
Tesla reported it will replace the windshield wiper motor with a wiper motor that will properly work, free of charge.
Notification letters are expected to be mailed on Aug. 18. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-24-17-006.
Cybertruck trim issue recall
The trunk bed trim recall affects all 2024 Cybertrucks manufactured between Nov 13, 2023 and May 26, according to NHTSA.
A loose applique can detach from the truck, creating a road hazard for following motorists and increasing the risk of a crash.
Tesla service will apply adhesion promoter and pressure sensitive tape or replace missing applique as necessary, free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 18. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-24-12-006.
